Recurring conditions take their toll

A survey of 2,300 full-time workers conducted by pain-relief firm Biofreeze, found the second most common reason for sickness absence in the UK is recurring medical conditions such as a chronic pain condition. The research suggests the average employee with a recurring medical condition takes 17 days of sick leave per year and, in 2020, all of those absences collectively accounted for nearly a quarter of total sick days taken.
